Advertising and Traffic
Ads Swaps, Traffic Exchanges, Text Ad Exchanges, Solos, Super Solos, List Building,
Traffic Generation, Safe Lists, the list goes on and on...the question seems to be
where do I start?
Like everything else, I suggest you take some time to look over all of the
tools available to you, THEN decide which best fit YOUR needs!
While each has their own things to help your campaigns, not all give you exactly
what best fits your program. In addition recently many of these combine different programs
under a single title, like a TAE that also has a TE built in so that you can
combine Advertising as well as Traffic building all in one stop!
Only by doing a little research can you really find out which sites are right for your needs!
To reduce time and confusion I am going to break things down into 2 basic groups for this list:
Traffic Exchanges (TE)
Text Ad Exchanges (TAE)
As I stated, there are a variety of other choices, but I suggest you do some homework
to decide which best work for you. These two cover much
of the basics and will give you and idea what kind of things you are looking for. They can ALL be
time consuming and fill up email FAST so do not sign up for too many (like I did!) but look for
ones that will give you the best results. The "Pirate" programs on the sides of this page are examples
of some of the types of programs available if you want to take a look.
Traffic Exchange
Rather than confusing you with my explanation, I will use the TOOLS accessible...The Internet, to provide you with the "Wilkipedia" explanation. I am only using a part of the entry so I suggest you go and do further investigation on your own...
Concept
A traffic exchange website receives website submissions from webmasters that join traffic exchange networks. The person who submitted the website then has to browse other member sites on the exchange program to earn credits, which enable their sites to be viewed by other members through the surf system. This increases the number of visitors to all the sites involved.
Exchanges enforce a certain credit ratio, which illustrates the amount of websites the surfer must view in order to receive one hit through the program for their promoted website. Many sites offer the ability to upgrade one's membership level for a more equal credit ratio.
As the viewers are all website owners or affiliates, it is possible that some might find certain member sites interesting and thus make note of them on their own sites, sending more traffic their way. Most traffic programs also impose a time limit when members are browsing, ranging from 10 seconds to 60 seconds. In practice, traffic exchange programs are generally used by small business owners or marketers who either want free advertising or use the exchange programs for low-budget advertisement campaigns.

Again I am going to use a better resource than myself to explaining these. Other things I suggest you look into are "Solo" ads, which through my own experience are one of the most effective types of ads, mailers as well as some of the other advertising options available, both on TAE and other Advertising related sites.
Most TAE's &TE's are FREE to join with the ability to upgrade at a small fee for greater access to services. Safelists often have a small membership fee to control their membership a little.
With literally HUNDREDS of these sites currently online and new one added regularly you will need to look into what you will get before you join anything!
Ad exchanges moved to another level of advertising to include text ads (commonly called text ad exchanges), traffic links (textads), downline builders, hotlinks, navigation and login links
depending on the website owner.
Members earn credits for reading other members' Ads and this is one way of getting ads read.
An ad exchange is similar to a safelist because it allows you to post in a large number of characters (some up to 1500.)

instructions on how to use them. Several of the pages have multiple codes
so make sure you read the instructions carefully! There are also sites which provide additional codes not posted on the site...I will post a few examples on the side of this page. Most sites also provide detailed instructions on the best way to use the site.
